On rare occasions, your washing machine may fail to spin. Here are two quick ways to remedy the problem and restore your washing machine's performance.

Clean the Drain Pump

A pump blockage could be the cause. Follow these steps to clean the pump:

1. Turn off the appliance.

2. Unplug the mains plug.

3. Open and remove the service flap.

4. Drain off all water using a drainage hose or by slowly removing the pump cover.

5. Clean the pump interior, thread, and housing to ensure the impeller can rotate.

6. Refit the pump cover and screw it back firmly.

7. Pour 1 litre of water into the detergent drawer to check for leakage.

8. If the pump is sealed watertight, start the pumping programme.

Check the Washing Machine Hoses

A blocked or kinked waste water hose could be the problem. Follow these steps to inspect and clean the hose:

1. Turn off the appliance.

2. Unplug the mains plug.

3. Ensure the drainage hose is correctly installed without kinks.

4. Place a bucket under the tap before loosening the hose clip on the siphon to avoid spills.

5. Carefully remove the drainage hose and pour the remaining water into the bucket.

6. Clean the drainage hose and the siphon’s connecting piece.

7. Hold the drainage hose in the bucket and select the "Drain" programme.

8. Reconnect the drainage hose to the siphon and check for leaks.
