While most ovens produce some noise during operation, excessive or unusual sounds may indicate underlying issues. Here are common problems causing excessive noise:
The fan element is dirty
Over time, grease buildup can strain the fan, resulting in louder operation. Thoroughly cleaning the fan should resolve this issue.
The fan motor is damaged
If the oven fan operates slower than usual, emits louder noise, and causes uneven cooking or inadequate heating, the fan motor may be damaged.
The gas igniter won’t stop ticking
This is a common issue, which is actually coming from your gas igniter and not your oven. This often occurs due to excessive water entering the igniter during cleaning, causing a short circuit and continuous clicking. Once the water has been removed, usually through evaporation, normal function should resume.
If the issue persists, we advise against attempting repairs yourself. Instead, book a repair with one of our highly trained and qualified Bosch engineers.
