If your gas hob is not igniting, there are a few simple actions you can carry out safely at home to resolve the issue. Simply follow our guide below.
Check for food remnants or dirt
If food remnants or dirt is located between the ignition plug and the burner, your hob will not ignite. Ensure that the area is clean and dry before igniting.
Align the burner
After cleaning the hob, it’s important to return all burner parts to their correct positions, as incorrect placement can interfere with ignition. Even if you haven’t just cleaned the hob, double-check that every part is properly fitted before attempting to ignite it again. If you need assistance, refer to your instruction manual for detailed guidance on how to assemble the burner correctly.
Check the power
If your hob is not sparking at all, and you are not hearing the usual ticking sounds, it could be because the power is out. Check the fuse box for any trips that could have occurred.
If the issue persists, we advise against attempting repairs yourself. Instead, book a repair with one of our highly trained and qualified Bosch engineers.
