If your steam cooker is prompting you to refill the water tank despite it already being full, there may be a few common causes.
Here's how to troubleshoot the issue:
Water tank not properly inserted
Make sure the water tank is correctly positioned:
1. Slide the tank in until it clicks into place.
2. A misaligned or loosely fitted tank can trigger a false empty warning.
If the water tank has become loose due to shaking or has started leaking, it may need replacing.
Inspect the tank for signs of looseness or leaks.

Incorrect Water Type or Settings
Using the wrong water type or incorrect settings can affect how your appliance detects water levels.
Important:
Do not use deionised or filtered water alone.
Always use cold, fresh tap water, softened water, or non carbonated mineral water.
If using filtered or demineralised water, mix it with non carbonated mineral water in a 1:1 ratio.
Ensure the water hardness setting is correctly configured in your appliance. This helps it function accurately and reminds you when to descale.
Tip: Contact your local water supplier to find out the hardness level of your tap water.
