Hand placing a dishwasher tablet into a dishwasher detergent dispenser.

If your dishwasher tablet is not releasing, there are a few simple checks that you can carry out on your own, which may help you resolve the issue.

Tablet collecting tray is blocked

If the dishwasher tablet is not realising, the problem could be improper loading. This often happens when a pan handle or a large item is blocking the tablet from being dispensed into the tablet collecting tray. In this instance you will find that the tablet has not fully dissolved or that your dishes are still dirty. Please check that there is nothing obstructing the dishwasher door and the tablet collecting tray before running a cycle.

Spray path is blocked

Even if the tablet is released into the collecting tray, it may fail to dissolve because your spray arms may be damaged or a pan handle is preventing the spray arms from spinning properly. This would affect the water flow and the effectiveness of the wash cycle and you will likely have to run another wash. Check your spray arms for any visible damage before proceeding and ensure that when you load the dishwasher there is nothing blocking the spray path.

If your spray arm is visibly damaged, please order a replacement part using our spare parts search or contacting our customer care team at +65 6751 5000.

Low water temperature

If your dishwasher tablet is releasing as normal, but fails to dissolve, low water temperature could be the root of the problem. Run a hotter cycle to check if the problem is with the water temperature.

If the issue persists, we advise against attempting repairs yourself. Instead, book a repair with one of our highly trained and qualified Bosch engineers.
