The dishwasher tablets may fail to dissolve properly for a number of reasons. Usually, these are not indicative of an appliance fault. The list below provides easy-to-follow instructions that can help you resolve the problem in no time.

Tablet collecting tray is blocked

Start by ensuring that the detergent dispenser and tablet collecting tray are both clean. The dishwasher tablet must be placed flat and not upright. Once the programme starts, the detergent dispenser opens automatically at an optimum time, depending on the programme selected. The tablet is released into the tablet collecting tray, where it begins to dissolve in doses. If this tray is blocked, for example by a saucepan handle, the tablet will not dissolve properly.

Spray arms are not working properly

The dishwasher relies on the spray arms for adequate water distribution. Ensure that the spray arms rotate freely and that there are no signs of cracks or damage. Check if the nozzles are blocked - if food deposits have blocked the nozzles, you will need to detach the spray arms and thoroughly clean out the holes and bearings on the spray arms so that water flow is not obstructed.

Low water pressure

If your appliance is not sufficiently filling with water or the water pressure is too low, the dishwasher tablet will fail to dissolve fully, or at all. Ensure that the connection is not kinked, crushed or twisted.

Low water temperature

If your dishwasher tablet is releasing as normal, but fails to dissolve, low water temperature could be the root of the problem. Run a hotter cycle to check if the problem is with the water temperature.

If the issue persists, we advise against attempting repairs yourself. Instead, book a repair with one of our highly trained and qualified Bosch engineers.
