If your ceramic hob is not working, here are some simple checks you can carry out safely at home to identify what could be causing this:
Check that the child lock has been deactivated
If your ceramic hob is unresponsive, but there is power going to it, you might have accidentally switched on the safety child lock. To deactivate it, simply press down on the key symbol for 3 to 4 seconds depending on the model of your appliance. If your appliance does not have a key symbol we recommend checking through the appliance’s instruction manual for more information.
Check the power
- Ensure the appliance is properly connected to a working power source.
- Adjust or disable the Power Management settings if necessary. Refer to your appliance’s instruction manual for more information.
Note: If you suspect a major electrical fault, contact a qualified electrician for repair.
Check the sensors are working
If your finger or the dial surface is wet, contact may not be registered. Please use the appliance with a dry hand, on a dry surface.
If the sensor is irresponsive or only some of the heating zones are working, we advise against attempting repairs yourself. Instead, book a repair with one of our highly trained and qualified Bosch engineers.
