Induction hobs do get hot, however only in the specific cooking zones. This is because induction hobs work by heating the pan directly, rather than the surface and therefore the surface does not get as hot as it would on a ceramic hob.

However, it is important to bear in mind that after cooking there will be some residual heat where the pan was. Therefore, be cautious around these zones, especially when cleaning the hob after cooking. The rest of the surface shouldn’t be hot and should be fine to touch.
