It’s normal to see a small amount of water — usually up to two cups — left in the bottom of your dishwasher after a cycle. This happens because Bosch dishwashers use a condensation drying system: moisture in the air condenses on the inside walls, runs off, and is pumped out. These small water droplets are normal and desirable.

Why Might Water Remain After a Cycle?

If you notice more water than usual, a blocked or dirty filter could be preventing the dishwasher from draining effectively. Cleaning the filter often resolves this issue.

How to Remove Standing Water

1. Remove the dishwasher racks to access the base.

2. Unlock the filter unit at the bottom of the dishwasher and carefully pull it out. Unscrew the cylindrical filter first to separate the unit.

3. Clean the filters under running tap water. Use a small brush to remove any debris but avoid abrasive tools that could damage the filter. Optionally, you can soak the filter in soapy water first, then rinse thoroughly.

4. Reinsert the filter, making sure the arrow marks align to ensure it is securely locked in place.

Tip: Regular filter cleaning helps maintain optimal performance and prevents water from pooling at the bottom.

If the issue persists, we advise against attempting repairs yourself. Instead, book a repair with one of our highly trained and qualified Bosch engineers.
