The right way to clean your Bosch dishwasher: For a longer lifespan and sparkling dishes

Many people consider their dishwasher to be the most convenient household appliance. You just need to put your dishes inside the machine, and the cleaning and rinsing process takes care of the rest. But a stressful and hectic everyday life can lead to your dishwasher being filled with dishes that still have larger pieces of food residue on them. That is why it is so important to use the machine care programme on a regular basis.

The machine cleaner is a cleaning powder. We recommend using it on a monthly basis for deep cleaning so that grease, starch, and protein residues get removed to your full satisfaction. The cleaner also effectively reaches and cleans areas of your dishwasher that are harder to access. The result is a hygienically clean dishwasher. Each package contains 3 individual sachets, with each sachet designed for one cleaning cycle.

Use the machine care on a monthly basis, depending on your machine’s usage, to effectively remove lime, oil, and grease residues at regular intervals.

By consistently using the machine cleaner and the machine care product, your dishes will always be perfectly clean. In addition, it can significantly extend the lifespan of your dishwasher.

The quick descaler - The perfect agent against limescale

Limescale deposits can accumulate on the interior surfaces of the dishwasher, including tubes and other internal components that come into direct contact with water. To effectively protect your dishwasher from limescale, we have developed a dedicated limescale remover. If you regularly use care products for your machine, we recommend using the quick descaler once a year.

Here's how it works:

If your appliance does not belong to the newest generation of Bosch dishwashers, please do not use the machine cleaner and machine care product in the same wash cycle. Instead, use them one after the other. You can identify whether you have a dishwasher of the latest generation by checking the display under the start button. If it shows "4 sec Reset," you have a newer model. Older models display "3 sec Reset." So, if you have one of the older models, please always use the two products one after the other.

Step 1: Preparation

Remove all dishes and cutlery from the dishwasher. It's important to run every cleaning programme with an empty dishwasher. Next, take out the filter and the spray arm. If necessary, dissasemble them and rinse them under running water.

After that, use a damp cloth to clean the inside of your dishwasher and the door frame. The cleaning programme will take care of the rest.

Step 2: Starting the automatic cleaning programme

The machine cleaner:

Pour the entire contents of one sachet of machine cleaner into the compartment for cleaning agents. Do not add any additional cleaning agents. Next, select the machine care programme (If you have a 1st generation dishwasher without a machine care programme, simply select an intensive programme with a high temperature between 60° and 70°). Press the start button and let the programme complete its cycle.

The machine care product:

After removing the protective film from the cap, put the bottle upside down in the cutlery basket of the empty dishwasher. Next, you select the same special care programme. Even after just one cycle, you will find that the inside of your dishwasher is sparkling and smells pleasant again.

Remember that you can use both the machine cleaner and the machine care product simultaneously in one wash cycle without any problems if you have a dishwasher from the latest generation.

The quick descaler:

For effective descaling, you just need to pour the quick descaler directly into the rinse tank and start the machine care programme.

The limescale will be efficiently removed. Regular descaling is not only cost-efficient but also improves your ecological footprint. When the dishwasher is free of limescale, its heating elements will need less electricity to reach the desired temperature. It is recommended to use the quick descaler at least once a year.
