Plug Health Check

More
Why are you offering a plug health check?
  • We have attended to a few cases concerning damage to the rewireable 13A GB plugs fitted to some models of Bosch dryers and washer-dryers. After internal investigations and tests, we concluded that a particular model of the rewireable 13A GB plug is not suitable for the affected dryers and washer-dryers. In order to uphold the highest quality, reliability and safety standards, we have decided to launch an island-wide voluntary plug health check campaign.
Why are you changing the plug? Is there anything wrong with the plug?
  • The change of the plug is aimed at minimising the risks of appliance inoperability arising from a possible failure of the existing plug.
  • The existing plugs are generic rewireable 13A GB plugs approved for use in Singapore. Internal tests and analysis of the cases which we had attended to have led us to conclude that this type of rewireable 13A GB plug is not suitable for the affected dryers and washer-dryers.
Why do you only change the plugs of these affected dryers and washer-dryers? What about other models which are using the same plug?
  • After internal investigations and tests, we have concluded that the particular model of the rewireable 13A GB plug which has been used is not suitable for the affected dryers and washer-dryers. We are certain that the rewireable 13A GB plugs continue to be suitable for the other unaffected appliances.
Is there any fault in the appliances?
  • As the appliances had resumed functional operability after a change of plug, there is no known fault in the appliances.
  • The damage to the plug does not have any negative impact on the quality or the performance of the appliance itself.
While my dryer/washer-dryer model is one of those affected, there is no issue with the plug. Should I continue to use the dryer/washer-dryer while waiting for your technician?
  • You may continue the use of your dryer/washer-dryer in the meantime. We advise that you take the same steps as would normally be expected for the safe use of any electrical appliance and power socket.
How long will the repair visit take?
  • The plug health check and replacement is a simple process and should be completed within one hour with minimal disruption.
How much does the plug health check cost?
  • The plug health check and replacement are free of charge for consumers with the affected models of dryers and washer-dryers.
Can I or an independent technician conduct the plug change?
  • No. It must be completed by BSH trained service technicians who will check and replace the plug and cable in accordance with our quality guidelines.
When will this FREE plug health check end?
  • We shall conduct the plug health check over a reasonable period of time to ensure as many consumers as possible have the plugs to the affected appliances replaced.
My appliance is not one of the affected models but it has a fault. Can I have a technician come over to check?
  • If your appliance is not an affected model of dryer or washer-dryer under this plug health check campaign, please contact our usual Customer Service hotline at 67515000 to book a service repair appointment.
